General Settings
The primary system settings panel hosts core brand assets, security switches, and third-party integrations.
Capabilities:
- Basic Configuration: Set the marketplace name, contact email, phone number, physical address, timezone, and upload system logos (light and dark mode versions), favicon, and preloader animation.
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Enable or disable platform-wide 2FA enforcement independently across Admins, Sellers, and Customers.
- Feature Visibility Switches: Toggle specific marketplace modules on or off with simple switches (e.g., enable/disable KYC, blogs, reviews, or seller registrations).
- Social Media Profiles: Manage external social media links (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) displayed across the storefront.
- Global SEO Settings: Configure default meta titles, meta descriptions, search keywords, and OpenGraph sharing tags for search engine optimization.
- Announcement Banners: Compose site-wide alert banners to notify users of seasonal auction events or holiday shipping schedules.
- Maintenance Mode: Take the public storefront offline with a custom maintenance message while retaining full administrative dashboard access.
- Custom CSS & Script Injections: Safely inject custom CSS overrides and third-party tracking scripts (Google Analytics 4, Facebook Pixel, live chat widgets) directly into the page
<head>or<footer>. - Cookie Consent Banner: Enable a GDPR/privacy cookie compliance notice on the storefront.
- XML Sitemap Generator: Generate, view, and download XML sitemaps for submission to Google Search Console.
- Custom 404 Page: Tailor the error page headline, description, and redirection button displayed when visitors encounter a non-existent URL.
Auction Settings
Fine-tune the bidding mechanics and protective guardrails of the auction engine.
Capabilities:
- Popcorn Bidding (Anti-Snipe Protection):
- Enable / Disable Toggle: Activate or deactivate automatic clock extensions.
- Danger-Zone Threshold: Define how close to auction completion a bid must be placed to trigger an extension (e.g., if a bid occurs in the final 2 minutes).
- Clock Extension Duration: Set how many additional minutes are added to the auction countdown when triggered (e.g., extend by 5 minutes).
- Bidding Guardrails: Configure minimum bid increments, maximum auto-bidding ceiling limits, and wallet security deposit percentages required to participate in high-value auctions.
Payment & Currency Settings
GenBay supports automated digital payment gateways and offline manual bank transfer options.
